16 gauge D. M. Lefever 9F Double Barrel Shotgun

16 gauge D. M. Lefever 9F Double Barrel Shotgun

Here’s a super rare shotgun. According to the seller, it’s a 16 gauge D.M. Lefever 9F. The pics stink (and description is just as bad), so squint and take a good look. I’ll doubt you’ll see another one.

These guns were made by Daniel Myron Lefever after he left the Lefever Arms Co. I think they were made from about 1901-1905. I’ve seen a couple of them and they are unique guns. This is the only 16g I’ve come across.

This is all the seller is saying out it:

Lefever  16 ga   crossbolt  28″ Krupp  barrels:  9 F  Very pretty  looks like  either  stump  and tree fork walnut   ,only about 20  ever  made , in this grade . Price: $8,400

Lefever also made a trigger plate (Blitz action) boxlock. No pins will
show in the receiver. Nice wood on this gun…but $8400?!
    Me thinks over priced some.

If you collect them, you’re not going to wait for the next one top pop up.

I don’t know if I seen the triggerplate models. I’ve handled 2-3 DMs. All were 12s.

    Thanks for the info.
