The double you see here is one of the highest-grade side-by-sides ever made in America. It’s a 12 gauge Parker Bros. Quality A. No. 1 Special and it’s on a #2 frame with 32″ Whitworth steel barrels

As you can imagine, this is a rare gun. Parker made about 79 A1-Specials. Of those, only thirteen were 12 gauges with 32″ barrels. It was ordered on 5/5/1914 and its original price was $397.75 — a lot of money considering the average annual salary for an American man was about $687 back then.

Parker added the A-1 Special to their lineup in 1907.  and up until they built their first Invincible in 1923, it was the company’s highest-grade gun.
