Little John’s Auction Service in Orange, CA, is having a big firearms auction on August 25, 26 & 27. Here are a few doubles in the sale that caught my eye:

Miroku Charles Daly Model 500 SxS hammerless shotgun, 20 gauge, 3” chamber: 26” ventilated rib barrels, blue finish, checkered wood stocks, #226232. This gun is in overall excellent condition showing little use or handling. Est.: $300-$600

Winchester Model 21 SxS hammerless shotgun, 12 gauge: 2-3/4” chambers, skeet and skeet choke, 26” nickel cromium steel barrels, blue finish, deluxe checkered wood stocks, KICK-EEZ hard rubber butt pad, double triggers, 14-1/8” length of pull, #2721. This gun is in overall fine condition showing approx. 98% original finish on the barrel assembly, approx. 96% original finish on the receiver with some spots of erosion at the edge of the recoil shield and at the front of the underside of the receiver with loss of finish to the underside of the trigger guard and barrel release latch; fine bores, crisp actions, sharp markings, fine wood stocks with deluxe checkering and beautiful flame graining. Est.: $3,500-$4,500.

Belgian-made Browning O/U shotgun, 20 gauge, 28”: Ventilated rib barrels, blue finish, checkered wood stocks, single trigger, hard rubber butt pad, #22441 in overall good condition showing considerable blue finish on barrels but scattered surface rust from poor storage, bores should clean to good, crisp actions, near fine stocks; a little TLC will greatly improve this early Browning. Est.: $550-$850.

L.C. Smith/Hunter Arms Co. SxS hammerless shotgun, .410 gauge, 26” barrels: Blue and case hardened finish, checkered deluxe wood stocks, double triggers, 14-3/4” length of pull to end of hard rubber butt pad, #108450 in overall fine condition showing the majority of its original blue finish on barrels with some areas of wear on the sides of each barrel, majority of vivid original case colors on receiver, fine bores, crisp actions, sharp markings and fine wood stocks with beautiful graining patterns to wood. Est.: $2,500-$3,500.

Spanish Ugartechea 28 gauge, 28″, boxlock SxS hammerless shotgun: Ejectors, double triggers, 28 gauge, 28” barrels, blue and case hardened finish, checkered wood stocks, hard rubber butt pad, #AOC/SG-19 in overall fine condition showing the majority of its original finish on the barrels and original vivid case colors on the receiver, fine bores, crisp actions and fine wood stocks. Est.: $2,000-$3,000.
Even considering the auction premium someone got a pretty good deal (and beat me out) on the Ugartechea. $1950, which wouldn’t get you a grade 3 from LCS, and the auction item was from Aspen Outfitters.
Yeah – there were some deals there. Sorry you missed it. Better luck next time.
Thanks for the comment.
