A super rare Beretta Sparviere O/U shotgun with a super cool trick…

Think you’ve seen it all? Then take a look at this 12 gauge Beretta Sparviere over-under double barrel shotgun. I’m not sure why why you would want the locks to do this, but it is pretty really ‘friggin cool.

I’m pretty sure the Bertuzzi Bros. invented the gullwing design. Elio and Remigio used it on a handful of their finest SxS shotguns (like this 20 gauge at CSMC), and they may have also added it to some O/Us. Their design functioned the same way, but they mounted the lockwork on a plate inside of the action.

  1. Gorgeous gun! The inletting looks nothing short of perfect. The Brits come up with the practical “droplock” and the Italians come up with the far sexier and impractical gullwing. Range Rover vs. Ferrari.

Beretta did not make that gun – I wonder if they farmed out it to Bertuzzi (nice bridle on that Bertuzzi gullwing, btw). FAMARS was making the SO-10s for Beretta – were they capable of making a gun like that?

  2. I was told that it’s all Beretta.

The Bertuzzi guys retired a number of years ago, and FAMARS stopped making Beretta’s top O/Us a while now.
