Here’s a nice looking double that should make a nice bird gun. It’s listed at Gunbroker.com and auction ends on 2/14/2014 @ 11:45:19 AM ET.

JP Sauer and Sohn – Suhl, 16 gauge, 28″ bbls, Ejectors

I think this is a pre-WW2 Sauer, and it appears to be in decent, original condition. The seller has done such a poor job of describing it that I doubt it will bring anywhere near its real value. But if you’re feeling lucky, it may be worth rolling the dice on it.

  1. Yeah – I understand. Sling swivels are unsightly. Euro shooters must do a lot of walking between stands. When you’re just trying to get somewhere, it’s nice to hang your gun over your shoulder and get it out of the way.

Several times, I’ve had to walk a couple miles down roads to get back to my truck. In those instances, I wish I had had a sling. Same thing if you ever have to walk across a section of corn field to get to some pheasant cover, or to set up for ducks.
