Superb Antique 12ga Parker DH in closet queen original condition! for sale

Superb Antique 12ga Parker DH in closet queen original condition: Rarely do we find early damascus guns in incredible condition. Most of the high condition Parkers are in the 175k SN range and newer. When you study a gun like this DH, you can see why Parker sold 240k guns. They made really beautiful firearms.

This particular gun is in the 82k SN range and made on a 1-1/2 frame. It has 28″ Damascus barrels with brilliant pattern, virtually all of which remains in pristine condition. The bores are brilliant and shiny. Made with splinter forend, double triggers, and extractors. The action is engraved in typical early DH pattern and retains more than 80% bold original case color. Stocks retain nearly all of their original finish. The quality of the wood on this gun cannot be overstated. The original skeleton buttplate retains more than 1/2 of the original blued finish as does the trigger guard.

Technical details: Right barrel- .731 with .025 Choke, Left Barrel .731 with .037 choke. Weight: 7lbs 5oz. 2-5/8″ chambers. LOP- 14″ to original skeleton BP. DAC 1-7/8″. DAH 3-1/8″

Fox A Grade 20 Gauge – FIGURED STRAIGHT STOCK, NICE!, vintage firearms inc
Fox A Grade 20 Gauge – FIGURED STRAIGHT STOCK, NICE!, vintage firearms inc

Fox A Grade 20 Gauge – FIGURED STRAIGHT STOCK, NICE!, vintage firearms inc: General Specs: Fox, Year 1938, 20 Gauge, 5lb 14oz, Chokes M/F, LOP 14 1/4″, DAH 2 5/8″, DAC 1 9/16″. Serial Number: 203917. Many gun lovers reading this ad regularly scour the internet for good deals on Fox shotguns.  One thing for certain; the availability of graded 20ga. Fox shotguns has dwindled to nearly zero.  Shooter/collectors have recognized the Fox 16ga. and 20ga. guns are the most well balanced, lightest weight, best handling guns of all the vintage American doubles.  It is also known that they have the simplest, most reliable actions as well.  They only made about 2400 A Grade 20ga. Fox guns, with likely less than 2000 remaining in action due to loss and damage. This little Fox A Grade, sn203917 produced in 1938, is an awesome find.  First, it is a factory English style grip, which is very rare (less than 10% made with English grip, or 240 guns).  The handling characteristics and aesthetics of an English grip little Fox is as close as an American double gun will come to being comparable to the finest English makers.  This gun weighs just 5lbs. 14oz. and balances dead on the hinge pin…it seems to float to your shoulder and balances perfectly in hand.  Next, the wood on the gun has much more figure than you will normally find on and A Grade Fox, and we all love nice wood!  Then we have this beautiful condition and pleasing patina to this gun, with 65% bright vivid factory case color, perfect screws, superb wood to metal fit, modern dimensions with the original butt plate…all these things add up to a superior vintage Fox gun.  The factory order card shows the gun “as shipped”; even the chokes and chambers are unaltered since leaving the factory.  Due to damage, loss, poor restorations, etc. there are only a few genuine, honest, factory correct, high-condition straight stocked Fox A Grade 20ga. guns left in the world, and the guys that own them are not likely to be selling them soon.  This Fox has perfect mechanics, excellent bores, and is tight as new on breech face and hinge pin.  THIS IS A “VFI CERTIFIED” GUN, meaning we stripped the forend iron and receiver to the smallest parts, ran it through the Ultrasonic cleaner, inspected all parts for integrity and function, then lubricated and reassembled (a $275 service!). VFI CERTIFIED guns carry a 90-day mechanical warranty. It is hard enough to find a decent A Grade 20ga. nowadays, let alone with a well figured English stock. Don’t let this one escape you. It will be a long time until another Fox A Grade 20 this nice is offered for sale. It will continue to gain value as you enjoy its use, so it is a grand investment tool for your hard-earned funds. Thanks for looking! Price: $6,450
