This trio of Purdey OUs was made for Sir Joseph Nickerson, one of the UK’s most famous shooters and author of the book A Shooting Man’s Creed. Nickerson started out shooting SxSs, but switched over to OUs, first Woodwards and then Purdeys.

Guy Lovelace was a successful southern California trap shooter back in the days when target shooting was covered in major newspapers the same way NBA games are covered today.
Important & rare DHE 20ga 30″ made for Famous Parker shooter Guy Lovelace w/Spec. features: Very rare Parker DHE 20ga with original 30″ barrels made for famed Parker Shooter Guy Lovelace and shipped to Tufts Lyon Co. in Los Angeles, CA for Guy Lovelace. Lovelace is easily googled and found in many shooting results as a champion shooter. He is also pictured on the rare Parker Bros 1905 calendar! I have some research and photos on email to go along with the gun to the successful purchaser. Made on a “0” frame with splinter forend, straight stock, double triggers and original skeleton buttplate. This gun with several special order features which are mentioned in the PGCA letter (photo included), most importantly is the forend checkering which calls for the forend to be checkered all over- this is the only factory original fully checkered original DHE 20ga I have seen. It also has wood that is just stunning – showing incredible fiddleback and color. The gun remains in pleasing untouched original condition with about 20% original case color. Barrels are excellent with about 75% original toned blue. The stocks are sound (no cracks) and retain about 85% of their original finish wish scattered handling marks from time in the blind.
