Rare! A 16g Parker CHE SxS shotgun …

16g Parker CHE SxS Shotgun
16g Parker CHE SxS Shotgun

I usually don’t go for restored or refinished guns. But I have to say, I could be talked into this 16g Parker CHE. Not only is it rare, it’s my favorite gauge, it’s stock has excellent dimensions and whoever refinished it didn’t a good job (according to the seller, the work was done by Turnbull).

According to the Parker Collectors website, Parker made just 1,673 CH-grade shotguns. These guns came with either damascus-steel bbls (regular or Bernard) or fluid Acme-steel barrels. According to the seller, Parker made just fifty-six CHE 16ga 28″ Acme Steel guns. BTW: CHE = C-grade, Hammerless, with Ejectors).

Parker CHE 16 ga Restored: This 1926 gun was completely restored, rust bluing and case color by Turnbull, wood professionally finish. This 16 ga is on a 1 frame 2 1/2″ chamber with 28″ barrels, modified and improved cylinder. The weight is 6 lbs 11 oz, the LOP is 14 5/8 DAC is 1 3/8 and DAH is 2 3/8. They only made 56 CHE 16 ga 28″ Acme Steel guns. It does have a Miller trigger and the gun is better then what the pictures show, everything works as it should. Price: $8,750

Parker 16 ga. 0 frame VH grade 28-inch barrels
Parker 16 ga. 0 frame VH grade 28-inch barrels

Here’s your chance to get a deal on what looks like a good, original Parker side-by-side. This gun is on Gunbroker.com now at No Reserve. The listing ends 4/6/2019 @ 3:54 PM.

VH-grade Parkers were one up from the Trojan, the company’s bottom-of-the-line models. In its catalogs, the company called them “…a strictly high-grade gun at a very low price”.

Parker 16 ga. 0 frame VH grade 28-inch barrels
Parker 16 ga. 0 frame VH grade 28-inch barrels

The No. 0 frame (Number Zero frame) was the smallest action Parker sixteens were built on (they were also made on the larger No. 1).

Parker 16 ga. 0 frame VH grade 28-inch barrels
Parker 16 ga. 0 frame VH grade 28-inch barrels

Parker 16 ga. 0 frame VH grade 28-inch barrels: I have this super nice Parker VH in original condition chambered in 16 gauge on the ever desirable “0” frame receiver. SN: 1369xx shows this gun to be manufactured in 1906. The barrels are 28″ and have not been cut. Made of Vulcan steel they have extractors, nice bores, no visible dings or dents, nice solid barrels finished out with a pair of nice beads with the front one topped in brass. The chokes measure: RH- .649, LH- .636. The Length of pull measures 14 1/4″ to the front trigger. Drop at comb is 1 1/4″ and drop at heel is 2 1/4″. Weight is 6lb, 9oz. There is some nice figure in the walnut stock for a VH grade. The original spur type dogs head butt plate has an old repair in the spur area but is solid and won’t be an issue. See photo. Overall this is a super nice all original 16 gauge Parker on the rare 0 frame that locks up tight with no looseness and is still right of center. Has perfect shootable dimensions with Vulcan steel barrels that can be used as a collectible piece still capable to be used for hunting. No reserve, bid with confidence.

Online auction alert: 16g Lefever GE SxS, 28″ bbls…

Fine original Lefever GE 16ga with 28" Dam bbls
Fine original Lefever GE 16ga with 28″ Dam bbls

What are the chances? In less than a week, two rare — and great looking — Lefevers have popped up on Gunbroker.

Last week I posted this 16g DM Lefever shotgun. Today, I’m posting that gun’s cousin, this 16g GE from the Lefever Arms Co. It’s on Gunbroker.com with No Reserve listing and it ends on 4/1/2019 @ 1:57 PM.

Fine original Lefever GE 16ga with 28" Dam bbls
Fine original Lefever GE 16ga with 28″ Dam bbls

Daniel Myron Lefever was an American inventor and gunmaker. In his lifetime, he patented a number of gun designs, including the one you see here, which was built by the Lefever Arms Company from 1883 until 1916.

Fine original Lefever GE 16ga with 28" Dam bbls
Fine original Lefever GE 16ga with 28″ Dam bbls

I love this gun for several reasons: First, there’s the design. Not only is it great looking (maybe the best looking of all American doubles), it’s also clever as hell. Not only does it have an adjustable action (so it’s easy to fix when it goes off the face), it also has an adjustable forend (so if it comes loose, it’s easy to tighten). Nest, this appears to be in excellent original condition. Considering this gun is 100+ years old, that’s special. Finally, there’s its gauge and barrel length. Sixteen-gauges with 28″ barrels from the Lefever Arms Co. are not that common.

Fine original Lefever GE 16ga with 28" Dam bbls
Fine original Lefever GE 16ga with 28″ Dam bbls

Fine original Lefever GE 16ga with 28″ Dam bbls: Fine original Lefever GE 16ga. 28″ Damascus barrels with bold pattern. Made with double triggers, splinter forend, capped pistol grip buttstock, and auto-safety. Weighing in at 6lbs 10oz. the gun retains a solid 40% original case color, 90%++ original Damascus pattern, 40% original trigger guard blue and most of the original stock finishes. The wood is nicely figured and measures 1-11/16″ DAC, 2-15/16 DAH, and 14-3/8″ LOP over the original Lefever Arms. Co monogrammed buttplate. Barrels, with original 2-1/2″ chambers measure .674(right) with .018 choke, and .667 (left) with .020 choke and minimum wall thickness is .027(right) and .032(left) making this a great shooting gun! The gun is priced at $2295 plus shipping to your FFL. This gun will make a fine shooting small bore Lefever that will also be comfortable in a collection of American doubles. Please don’t hesitate to contact me with any questions via PM on this site or at (704) 280-2382. Thanks for looking!

Incredible gun alert: 16g Lefever BE SxS …

Fantastic and Extremely Rare Original Lefever BE Grade 16ga SxS Shotgun
Fantastic and Extremely Rare Original Lefever BE Grade 16ga SxS Shotgun

Take a good, long look at this 16g BE-grade Lefever. Chances are good you’ll never see another one again.

Fantastic and Extremely Rare Original Lefever BE Grade 16ga SxS Shotgun
Fantastic and Extremely Rare Original Lefever BE Grade 16ga SxS Shotgun

Over its short history (XXXX-XXXX) the Lefever Arms Company made far fewer guns than the other major American SxS makers — Parker, Fox, L.C. Smith, and Ithaca. And as was the case with most gunmakers, most of the SxSs Lefever built were in their lower grades: I, DS, H, G, F. Very few of the company’s top-tier guns – the One Thousand Dollar Grade, the Optimus, the AA, A, & Bs – were made and most of these were 12 gauges.

Fantastic and Extremely Rare Original Lefever BE Grade 16ga SxS Shotgun
Fantastic and Extremely Rare Original Lefever BE Grade 16ga SxS Shotgun

So any B-grade Lefever is a scarce gun (a BE is a B-grade with Ejectors), and a 16 gauge BE is, well, super ‘friggin rare. In 20 years of following Lefevers, this is the first one I’ve seen on the open market.

BTW: If you own an old Lefever and would like to know more about it or sell it, please let me know. I would be happy to help out. Gregg@DogsandDoubles.com

Grouse hunters: Here’s your dream Parker SxS…

PARKER VH GRADE 16 GAUGE 0 FRAME SIDE-BY-SIDE
PARKER VH GRADE 16 GAUGE 0 FRAME SIDE-BY-SIDE

Ruffed grouse hunting isn’t for sissies. There are no horse-drawn carriages to ride in or wide-open fields to stroll through, and no one pushes birds your way as you block a shelterbelt.

If you want to chase these ruffed grouse, you need to get in the woods and get dirty. You’re going to get scratched up and bruised, and you’re going to carry your gun a lot.

The Parker VH you see here is 16 gauge built on a 0 frame (frame = action, Parker actions ran from 000-frames, used on .410s and 28 gauges, to 7-frames, used on 10 and 8 gauges). It weighs just 5lbs, 13oz — lighter than a lot of 20-gauges – and about a pound less than your typical 16-gauge Parker.

Good gun alert: 16g Parker DHE SxS, $4250 …

Parker DHE 16ga Side-by-Side Double Barrel Shotgun
Parker DHE 16ga Side-by-Side Double Barrel Shotgun

“Fair price” and “Parker shotgun” aren’t words see near each other very often — especially when a Parker is a sixteen-gauge DHE. But from what I can see, that’s just how I would describe the SxS you see here.

Parker DHE 16ga Side-by-Side Double Barrel Shotgun
Parker DHE 16ga Side-by-Side Double Barrel Shotgun

This 16 gauge Parker DHE looks like it’s in decent shape. If that’s the case, $4250 is a very fair price for it.

The DHE was Parker’s entry-level, “custom gun” (meaning it had to be custom ordered from the factory) and the company considered it “The Best Gun Value of Which We Know.”

Parker DHE 16ga Side-by-Side Double Barrel Shotgun
Parker DHE 16ga Side-by-Side Double Barrel Shotgun

Parker DHE 16ga Side-by-Side Double Barrel Shotgun: This good condition Parker was manufactured in 1910, it has 2 1/2″ chambers and automatic ejectors. The barrel is 28″ choke improved modified/ modified. The LOP is 14 1/4, DAH is 2 7/8 and DAC is 1 3/4, weight is 6lb 14oz. The 14 1/4 LOP is to end of the pad and the gun is on a 1 frame. I do have a Parker Gun Club letter for the gun, it was ordered by the Tufts Lyons Arms Co. of Los Angeles Ca. on October 22, 1908.

Parker DHE 16ga Side-by-Side Double Barrel Shotgun
Parker DHE 16ga Side-by-Side Double Barrel Shotgun

The Hawkins recoil pad was added to the gun. There is still 95% finish on the barrel, looks to be original and 30% muted case color. The quality refinished wood has crisp checkering with small dings. The only issue that I know of is a repair on the forearm a small crack that was professionally repaired, you have to look for it. Price: $4250

1931 Parker Brothers GHE 16 Gauge SxS 28" Shotgun
1931 Parker Brothers GHE 16 Gauge SxS 28″ Shotgun

Classic. American. Grouse gun. Here it is, and it’s on Gunbroker.com now, being auctioned off at no reserve. The listing ends 11/4/2018 @ 8:43 PM.

The Parker GHE (a quality GH gun with Ejectors), was a lower, middle-grade gun in its day. Parker called it “a gun of exceptional value,” so it wasn’t cheap, but it offered a lot of nice features at a fair price.

1931 Parker Brothers GHE 16 Gauge SxS 28" Shotgun
1931 Parker Brothers GHE 16 Gauge SxS 28″ Shotgun

This one is in what I would called “honest wear” condition. It looks like it was shot a lot, and a lot of the original finish is gone. There’s a pronounced crack in the forend, too. But that crack looks fixable and the rest of the gun looks sound.

1931 Parker Brothers GHE 16 Gauge SxS 28″ Shotgun

1931 Parker Brothers GHE 16 Gauge SxS 28″ Shotgun: This Parker Brothers shotgun shows a Serial Number of: 235828. Length of Pull measures 13.5″ to back trigger. Length of Pull measures 14.5 to the forward trigger. Manufacture date is listed as 1931. This classic representation has Upland Game Scenes engraved on the frame. Barrel length is listed at 28″. In the select world of vintage American double barrel shotguns, the name Parker Brothers stands in a class of their own. The Parker Gun Collectors Association has done a great job fostering knowledge on these fine guns, which many believe to be America’s finest. This GHE shows:

  • Serial Stamp is 235828.
  • Frame Size “1”
  • “16/1” on the barrel lug
  • Barrel flat shows 3 1 indicating barrel weight.
  • Watertable is stamped GH indicating grade.
  • Barrel is stamped “Special Steel”
  • Watertable is stamped “2”

This 1931 example is in very fine condition showing a proud degree of the original blue finish and case coloring. The select grade American hardwood stock and forearm show a rich texture and grain profile. The original dog’s head buttplate is featured and also remains in excellent condition. The lettering and engraving and screws are all in superb condition and look clocked properly along the axis of the gun. The triggers are crisp and break clean. There are fewer and fewer 16ga. Parkers with 28” Parker Special Steel barrels remaining original condition. The forearm shows small imperfections but remains solid throughout. A most gorgeous Parker Brother SXS Shotgun for your consideration. We have opened the gun and photographed the internal proofs in detail.

Lot # 1022: FRENCH MANUFRANCE MODEL IDEAL 2R SXS SHOTGUN

When I first got into doubles, Stephen Bodio’s Good Guns Again was one of my favorite books.  I agree completely with how one reviewer summed it up: “…Bodio at his finest, the unleashed, unfettered gun fanatic, haunting the gun shops, evaluating, and offering a unique insight into the world of sporting firearms.”

Of all the unique insights Bodio offered it, many were focused on what makes a gun special, unique or good. The 16 gauge French SxS you see here was one he thought was more than just “good”. He thought it was spectacular (and one of the prettiest shotguns ever made).

Manufrance Ideals are the French version of a Dickson round action. With a Rigby-style rising bite action, coil springs and a triggerplate design, they’re simple, rugged, and elegant. That little lever behind the trigger opens the gun and cocks it after firing. It also makes these side-by-sides a pleasure to use.

This model would be a great grouse gun — and it’s built-in, retractable leather sling is just plain cool (and rare to see intact in these). BTW: You can see more Ideals and learn more about them here.

Parker DH 16 Gauge - "O" FRAME - SxS Shotgun, 95% FACTORY COLOR GORGEOUS
Parker DH 16 Gauge – “O” FRAME – SxS Shotgun, 95% FACTORY COLOR GORGEOUS

Spend some time looking at old doubles and you’ll discover Parker shotguns are not hard to find. That’s because Parker Bros and Remington built around 242,500 of them.

But very few of the ones you’ll see out there are like this one. It’s a 16g DH with damascus barrels, a long length of pull (14 3/4″), and an 0 frame (the lightweight size for 16s). Those four features put it in the hard-to-find/rare category when it comes to Parkers. It condition puts it in the have-to-have category when it comes to collecting.

Parker DH 16 Gauge - "O" FRAME - SxS Shotgun, 95% FACTORY COLOR GORGEOUS
Parker DH 16 Gauge – “O” FRAME – SxS Shotgun, 95% FACTORY COLOR GORGEOUS

Of course, it’s not cheap. But if you’re balking at the price, ask yourself this: When are you going to see another one like it?

Parker DH 16 Gauge – “O” FRAME -SxS Shotgun, 95% FACTORY COLOR GORGEOUSThere are some guns that just seem special, and a Parker 16ga. on an “O” frame (20ga. frame) is just such a gun.

More than a 1/2 pound lighter than a typical Parker 16ga, the “0” frame 16 is highly sought after by today’s upland hunter. They are not common, and to find one on the nicely decorated DH Grade format is a treat. This Parker DH, sn140136 made in 1906, is stunning with 99% factory damascus pattern, 95% factory case colors, perfect bores…no flaws anywhere.

Parker DH 16 Gauge - "O" FRAME - SxS Shotgun, 95% FACTORY COLOR GORGEOUS
Parker DH 16 Gauge – “O” FRAME – SxS Shotgun, 95% FACTORY COLOR GORGEOUS

The serialization book shows it is configured just as it left the factory. They only made 458 damascus DH 16ga. guns. There can only be a handful on the highly desirable “O” frame. At 6lbs. 2oz. it is a delightful gun that will not wear you out by the end of the day. The wood on this Parker is incredible, with full flame and feather-crotch figure finished in a hand-rubbed oil finish, a 14 ¾” LOP to the skeleton butt plate, and modern shooting dimensions (shown below) and perfect mechanics. This unusual combination of features makes it a very desirable Parker the likes of which you may never again see for sale, so don’t hesitate on “pulling the trigger” with this purchase.

This little Parker will be a joy to carry afield or to your favorite clays course and we don’t expect it will be for sale for any length of time. This is the kind of Parker that will continue to gain value as you enjoy its use with its high factory original condition on all the metal, very rare configuration on the “O” frame, low production numbers, awesome stock dimensions, and knock-out wood that is eye candy to all gun lovers! Auction alert: 16g A.H. Fox A-grade SxS. No reserve…

Ansley H. Fox 16ga. Side by Side. 28"brls. Grade "A"
Ansley H. Fox 16ga. Side by Side. 28″brls. Grade “A”

Here’s a great way to get into vintage doubles. This side-by-side is an “A” Grade A.H. Fox. It’s in the greatest gauge — 16 — and it has a hard-to-find round-knob grip. It even comes with what appears to be its original hang tag. It’s on Gunbroker.com now and the listing ends tomorrow, 12/6/2017, @ 2:32 PM.

This sxs is a true A.H. Fox, made in Philadelphia, PA, by the original company before it was bought  by Savage Arms in 1929. Back when it was made, it was low-grade model. That being said, the company claimed “You can search through the world’s gun market and not find a better, truer shotgun at the price than the “A” Grade FOX.” Perhaps.

BTW: Be sure you check out this gun thoroughly before bidding. It’s listed as an “AS IS” sale. So there are no refunds or exchanges if you get it.

Charles Lancaster 12 ga. Percussion SxS Double
Charles Lancaster 12 ga. Percussion SxS Double

Charles Lancaster 12 ga. Percussion SxS Double: Circa 1840s, S/N 1989, 12 ga. percussion, 30″ Damascus barrels bear initials “CL”.  Rib inscribed “Charles Lancaster 151 New Bond Street London”.  Nice original example with some repair to the top left hammer.  Wonderful stock, original checkering, fire-blued steel buttplate.  Bores appear mint.  Shot and powder flasks, tools in leather pouch, original maker’s oak case. This is a best gun of the period. Lancaster began in 1811 as a gun barrel maker, then set up shop as a gunmaker at 151 New Bond Street, building guns of the highest quality.  His barrels were used in the early guns of Joseph Manton and James Purdey.  Really neat ” barn find”.  Price: $2,500

Good gun alert: 16 gauge Winchester M21, 28″, double triggers…

Winchester Model 21 16 Gauge SxS, 28”, Double Triggers, Ejectors
Winchester Model 21 16 Gauge SxS, 28”, Double Triggers, Ejectors

When I first saw  this side-by-side I though “Holy Sh!t”. While sixteen gauge Winchester Model Twenty Ones aren’t hard to find, ones with 28″ barrels, double triggers AND ejectors are rarer than Irish men named Ari.

Then I saw the gun’s wart: A buttstock with 3 5/8″ of drop in it. Whoever ordered it must have been built like a giraffe –or Twitter’s Jack Dorsey.
If you’ve always wanted a M21 set up like this and can deal with all the drop (or you don’t mind restocking it), go for it. If not, you can wait for the next one to pop up. But be forewarned: You’ll wait a L-O-N-G time.

J P Clabrough impressive 8 gauge Side-by-Side sidelock hammer double:

J P Clabrough impressive 8 gauge Side-by-Side sidelock hammer double: SxS hammer shotgun, circa 1887.  Until acquiring this gun I couldn’t use the words massive and beautiful in the same sentence when describing a shotgun!  The 36” barrels are Damascus steel with the pattern showing nicely, slightly browning with flawless/bright bores and chambers.  The barrels are fitted to a finely, fully engraved frame featuring with lots of scroll and game scene vignettes of pheasants on the left side and English black grouse on the right side with good traces of original colors present.  The engraved English black grouse were something of a “signature” engraving pattern on Clabrough mid and higher grade guns.  The double triggers are housed by a large trigger guard and the bottom tang that is fitted all the way to the engraved metal pistol grip cap.  The stock has a 14” LOP to the center of the original horn buttplate, 2” DAC and 3” DAH with neutral cast.  The stock and cross pin forearm have all of their original finishes with a fair amount of handling marks and yet no cracks or chips.  This is a really spectacular example of a Clabrough gun and an even more incredible example of an early 8 gauge, graded hammer gun.  By the “way” it weighs 13 lbs. 15 oz. A hard to find Lefever Arms FE SxS in 16 gauge…

LEFEVER SYRACUSE, FE GRADE, 16 GAUGE, 28" DAMASCUS BBLS
LEFEVER SYRACUSE, FE GRADE, 16 GAUGE, 28″ DAMASCUS BBLS

If this were 2005, I would be scheming to buy this 16 gauge Lefever FE. I used to love Lefevers. Of all the American SxSs, they’re sleekest and best looking. They’re also unique designs — a taster of the fruit that fell from the brain of they’re creator, Daniel Myron Lefever.

D.M. Lefever was one of America’s most inventive gunmakers. Born in upstate New York in 1835, he opened his first gunshop in 1857. Over the next two decades, he formed partnerships with a number men — Ellis, Dangerfield, Barber & Nichols — and built a wide range of muzzle- and breech-loading firearms.

LEFEVER SYRACUSE, FE GRADE, 16 GAUGE, 28" DAMASCUS BBLS
LEFEVER SYRACUSE, FE GRADE, 16 GAUGE, 28″ DAMASCUS BBLS

In 1880 he formed the Lefever Arms Co in Syracuse, NY. The company was only around until 1919, and they only built around 65,000 shotguns (Parker made 200,000+ SxSs, Ithaca made many, many more). I’m not sure how many of Lefever’s guns were 16s, but estimates say fewer than 15%.

The 16 gauge you here is an F grade with ejectors (the E in F-E). Lefevers came in range of grades (see more about them here), and the F was a lower middle, comparable to Parker GH or a Fox B. I’ve owned several 16g F-grade Lefevers. They were all nice guns, and I’ve been looking at this one again and again, wondering if needs to be in my safe.

BTW: If you have a Lefever and you would like to know more about it, I’m happy to help. Just email me at gregg@dogsanddoubles.com

Auction alert: a 16g A.H. Fox A grade SxS shotgun, 30″ bbls…

A.H. Fox A grade 16 gauge SxS Shotgun #301583
A.H. Fox A grade 16 gauge SxS Shotgun #301583

A couple days ago I put up a post about a 16g Parker DHE on an O frame. That double is one of the grails of grouse hunting. The one you see here is another. While maybe not as coveted as the Parker, it’s still a SxS a lot of guys wish they could carry in October.

Most of the 16g Foxes you’ll see out there are Sterlingworths. Graded, 16-gauge Foxes side-by-sides are scarce shotguns. This is just one of the 3800 or so 16g shotguns A.H. Fox made in grades A-F. This one, made around 1932-33, also has 30″ barrels, which makes it even scarcer.

This one is coming up at Kramer Auction Service LLC in Prairie du Chien, WI. Their auction starts on Saturday, March 26 @ 10:00 AM central time.

A.H. Fox A grade SxS Shotgun #301583: 16 ga. 30″ bbls w/bright bores & retaining good overall blue on exterior. Bbls. are marked w/Philadelphia PA address. Left bbl. has a small ding approx. 9″ back from muzzle which shoes slightly in bore. Fully engraved receiver shows good case color in protected areas. Mechanically crisp w/double triggers & ejectors. No Shoc recoil pad & LOP approx. 14″. Original checkered walnut stock. In nice overall condition.

16g Parker Brothers DHE SXS Double Barrel Shotgun, O Frame
16g Parker Brothers DHE SXS Double Barrel Shotgun, O Frame

Here’s one of the holy grails of grouse hunting. This 16 gauge Parker DHE was made on a O-sized frame. Add in its 26″ barrels, and I bet you have a shotgun that weighs 6.5lbs or even less.

Unlike VH- or GH-grades, DH-grade Parkers were strictly custom-ordered guns. Like all Parker shotguns, they came in a variety of barrel lengths and stock styles, and the guns were available on different sized actions. Sixteens were offered on three: Twos, the standard actions for 12gs, Ones, the standard actions for 16gs, and Zeroes, the standard action for 20 gauges.

16g Parker Brothers DHE SXS Double Barrel Shotgun, O Frame

So a 16 gauge Parker on an O-sized action essentially a 16g on a 20g frame. This makes these gun especially light, and that’s what makes grouse hunters covet them so much.

This 16g DHE is being offered at No Reserve on Gunbroker.com now, and the auction ends 3/24/2016 9:33:14 AM ET.

ITHACA 16 GA SIDE x SIDE FLUES MODEL, CASED – EXCELLENT

I’ve always loved Ithaca’s Flues-grade SxSs. I don’t what it is about them, but every I see one, I get that urge to buy it — especially when I see one as nice as this.

The Flues was introduced in 1908 to 1926 when it was replaced by the NID.  Ithaca made a ton of them in that period — 223,000 — and it was certainly one of the most popular side-by-sides ever made in America.

Today, ones like this are great little grouse guns. Just be sure you shoot them with lightweight, low pressure shells.

ITHACA 16 GA SIDE x SIDE FLUES MODEL, CASED – EXCELLENTThis is a very unusual gun, in what I believe to be a factory fitted hard case from the period of manufacture – even though it does not have a factory label inside. This so called Flues Model Ithaca side by side is a 1&1/2 grade and so marked. Gun has 28 inch barrels with modified and full chokes, and plain extractors.  Barrels are like new in and out except for one small spot on the left barrel at breech which appears to be a rub mark from the case. Forearm is likewise like new.  Factory engraved receiver has just about all the case color with the exception of one small spot of pitting on top of the receiver to the right of the front of the toplever – hardly noticeable. Stock finish is original and excellent with slight bubbling – perhaps caused by heat in storage. Could easily be hand rubbed out to a wonderful finish – ditto for the forearm which has all the finish presently.  This gun and its wonderful case have definitely been in storage for many, many years and that is the reason it has most all of the original rust blue and vivid case colors. Even has the original Ithaca hard rubber buttplate.  Priced to sell quickly. Shipping will be $50.00 because of the weight of the hard case.  Price: $1,295
