Finish on wood and barrels is clearly original, and 98+%. The finish on the Receiver is a little off, but I don’t know why. It appears to be polished, where these guns are typically matte. It might have been polished, or possibly even blued. Either way, the gun is extremely nice. Price: $2,450.00

HOLLAND & HOLLAND 450 #2 N. E. ROYAL DOUBLE RIFLE VERY RARE CARTRIDGE
HOLLAND & HOLLAND 450 #2 N. E. ROYAL DOUBLE RIFLE VERY RARE CARTRIDGE

HOLLAND & HOLLAND 450 #2 N. E. ROYAL DOUBLE RIFLE VERY RARE CARTRIDGE in a H&H- EXC. PLUS BORES- EXC. GUN INSIDE & OUT: #19100, Holland & Holland Sidelock Royal Ejector 450 No. 2 Nitro Express Finished at the Factory on August 30, 1906. This gun is a new offering on the U. S. market in a very rare cartridge offering of the great 450 #2 chambering, It has 26″ Ejector Chopper Lump barrels with rib extension third bite, 1/4 rib with 1 standing & 2 folding rear sights, Fold-up night sight, London proof at 80 Cordite and 480 grain bullet, Bushed strikers, Double triggers with the front articulated, An extended top strap over the comb, Trapdoor grip cap with spare strikers and 2 spare front sights, Original LOP at 14 11/16″ over the original 1″ Silvers pad that is removable with plugs over the tiedown screws, Cast-off for the right hand, Proper weight of 10 lbs. 13 oz., The gun with 98% coverage of typical H&H Royal scroll, The frame retains 75% of original case colors, The breech face with 95% case colors, The inside forend metal with 99% case colors, The barrels have 96% original blue, The outside barrel striking is perfect, The buttstock re-oiled professionally and remains in 98% condition, The checkering remains at 96%, The bores are excellent plus and remain in super condition and for all intents and purposes look like they did over a 100 years ago, It is smack on the face, It has a Deluxe Oak & Leather brass cornered trunk case that is more modern than the gun and has a reproduced H&H trade label. This is flat out one nice 450 #2 Royal in a very rare chambering that is seldom ever seen or heard of in a H&H. Then top it all off; it has super bores, great condition, points like a dream with the proper cast-off and is offered in one of the greatest English cartridges of all time that shoots .458″ diameter bullets all day long. This is nice stuff here, most likely the only one of its kind on the world market. ////////////////////////////// Relative to the records from Holland & Holland, it was originally to be built as a 500/450 3 1/4″ nitro express. On the original build sheet it has a memo on June 12, 1906 that it was shot with Eley’s No. 2 nitro cartridge with 80 grs cordite and a 480 grain bullet. The gun is so marked and was proved accordingly. The length of pull on the build sheet is exactly as the gun measures to this day. Another memo on August 10, 1906 mentions fitting a spare Ivory front sight and it still is there in the trap grip cap and never installed. This piece remains almost exactly as it left H&H in August 1906. It was ordered by Fusils Guinard Armuriers in Paris and there is a very strong chance it never made it to India or Africa. Also, a very good chance that the First World War interupted the intended purpose or use of this gun and it remains to this day a very well kept piece. Price: $89,000

Winchester Model 21 field 12 gauge SxS shotgun. 32″ bbls

Winchester Model 21 field 12 gauge SxS shotgun. 32″ bbls:  A very early Model 21 with double triggers, extractors and splinter forearm.  This 21 appears, in all regards, to be almost completely original and untouched.  The 32” barrels are chambered 2 3/4″ and choked Mod & Full: measuring Mod (.018) and Full (.035(; the bores are perfect and barrel blue retains over 95% original blue.  The frame has bright spots on the fences and on the bottom edges..otherwise the frame has 90-93% original blue.  The back of the top tang is bright and I think the trigger guard has been “freshened”.  The wood finish is original.  No major damage or cracks; just an assortment of 70+ years of handling; checkering is smooth in spots.  Butt plate is original and in great shape.  14” LOP, 1 9/16” DAC & 2 7/8” DAH.  Weighs 8 lbs.
