Purdey sidelock Over-Under 20 gauge, 30″ Bbls, 2003 and mint, Teage Choke Tubes, Leather Case w/canvas cover: I am original buyer and owner of this Purdey sidelock 20 Gauge, Over and Under, with 30″ Barrels, Teague Chokes. Specs were to make the ideal driven pheasant shotgun, as well as for partridge and other small bird game. It’s a marvelous shotgun and here is the whole story on the shotgun which was ordered in 2001 and delivered in Declember 2003. Description per the mini Purdey book included with the gun as follows: 20 Bore, Over & Under Square Bar, Trigger Single, Beaded Edge, Automatic safety, weight 6lb 8 oz, Barrels 30″, Chamber 2 and 3/4″, Rib solid matted, Chokes Teague x 6 tubes, Proof 1200 BAR, Weight of Barrels 2 lb 12 oz, Stock Pistol Grip with Metal Cap, Chequered Butt, Measurements 1 3/8 x 1 7/8, Length 15 3/8 Mid, Cast off 3/8″ Heel, Forend Slim Tapering, No oval, Case Light Tan + Canvas Outer. Engraving Fine Rose & Scroll. Gold Purdey name on Locks and Forend Iron; Colour Hardened Finish. Total shells fired less than 3 boxes; used once in the field. Gun is in excellent plus condition per photos posted here; no bad surprises! All the little parts that Purdey delivers with shotgun are here: Purdey engraved snapcaps, Purdey cleaning rod, Purdey mini leather holder with chamber brushes, a mini Purdey book with all specs of gun. There is also a thumb drive with photos of the making of this shotgun in the Purdey factory in England. Stock was hand selected in the Purdey wood room at Audley House. Gold Purdey name on Locks each side, and on Forend iron add a touch of distinction. The 30 inch barrels with the Teague chokes allow you many possible uses of just one gun, from open chokes for Partridge to full chokes for driven pheasant; you get to pick which of the 6 chokes you want. I thought the 20 gauge over-under was the best option for various game events, and that would include skeet and even sporting clays. Note in the leather case–and case was made specifically for this gun–the Teague chokes come with one small wrench which is eacy and fast to change choke tubes; each of the tubes is fitted into the case. Also note that the case holds small silver colored bottle for oil, and small tan leather holder for barrel brushes, and the rod with Pudey naming is tucked neatly into the case, along with Purdey engraved snap caps. The good news is that all the mini parts are here and included. It’s a marvelous gun looking for a new home! Here are 3 reasons I love this Parker Repro SxS: It has double triggers, it has a long-ish 14 3/4″ LOP, and it looks nearly new.
Parker Reproductions came about in 1984, the Parker as the brainchild of Parker collector Tom Skeuse. These guns were made in Japan by Olin-Kodensha, builders of Winchester 101s.
They’re great guns for anyone who loves America’s famous double-barrel shotguns and wants all that vintag character without all the vintage-gun hassles (worn out parts, poor repairs, lousy stock dimensions, etc).

Fox A Grade 20 Gauge – FIGURED STRAIGHT STOCK, NICE!, vintage firearms inc: General Specs: Fox, Year 1938, 20 Gauge, 5lb 14oz, Chokes M/F, LOP 14 1/4″, DAH 2 5/8″, DAC 1 9/16″. Serial Number: 203917. Many gun lovers reading this ad regularly scour the internet for good deals on Fox shotguns. One thing for certain; the availability of graded 20ga. Fox shotguns has dwindled to nearly zero. Shooter/collectors have recognized the Fox 16ga. and 20ga. guns are the most well balanced, lightest weight, best handling guns of all the vintage American doubles. It is also known that they have the simplest, most reliable actions as well. They only made about 2400 A Grade 20ga. Fox guns, with likely less than 2000 remaining in action due to loss and damage. This little Fox A Grade, sn203917 produced in 1938, is an awesome find. First, it is a factory English style grip, which is very rare (less than 10% made with English grip, or 240 guns). The handling characteristics and aesthetics of an English grip little Fox is as close as an American double gun will come to being comparable to the finest English makers. This gun weighs just 5lbs. 14oz. and balances dead on the hinge pin…it seems to float to your shoulder and balances perfectly in hand. Next, the wood on the gun has much more figure than you will normally find on and A Grade Fox, and we all love nice wood! Then we have this beautiful condition and pleasing patina to this gun, with 65% bright vivid factory case color, perfect screws, superb wood to metal fit, modern dimensions with the original butt plate…all these things add up to a superior vintage Fox gun. The factory order card shows the gun “as shipped”; even the chokes and chambers are unaltered since leaving the factory. Due to damage, loss, poor restorations, etc. there are only a few genuine, honest, factory correct, high-condition straight stocked Fox A Grade 20ga. guns left in the world, and the guys that own them are not likely to be selling them soon. This Fox has perfect mechanics, excellent bores, and is tight as new on breech face and hinge pin. THIS IS A “VFI CERTIFIED” GUN, meaning we stripped the forend iron and receiver to the smallest parts, ran it through the Ultrasonic cleaner, inspected all parts for integrity and function, then lubricated and reassembled (a $275 service!). VFI CERTIFIED guns carry a 90-day mechanical warranty. It is hard enough to find a decent A Grade 20ga. nowadays, let alone with a well figured English stock. Don’t let this one escape you. It will be a long time until another Fox A Grade 20 this nice is offered for sale. It will continue to gain value as you enjoy its use, so it is a grand investment tool for your hard-earned funds. Thanks for looking! Price:$6,450

“Fair price” and “Parker shotgun” aren’t words see near each other very often — especially when a Parker is a sixteen-gauge DHE. But from what I can see, that’s just how I would describe the SxS you see here.
The DHE was Parker’s entry-level, “custom gun” (meaning it had to be custom ordered from the factory) and the company considered it “The Best Gun Value of Which We Know.”
Parker DHE 16ga Side-by-Side Double Barrel Shotgun: This good condition Parker was manufactured in 1910, it has 2 1/2″ chambers and automatic ejectors. The barrel is 28″ choke improved modified/ modified. The LOP is 14 1/4, DAH is 2 7/8 and DAC is 1 3/4, weight is 6lb 14oz. The 14 1/4 LOP is to end of the pad and the gun is on a 1 frame. I do have a Parker Gun Club letter for the gun, it was ordered by the Tufts Lyons Arms Co. of Los Angeles Ca. on October 22, 1908.
The Hawkins recoil pad was added to the gun. There is still 95% finish on the barrel, looks to be original and 30% muted case color. The quality refinished wood has crisp checkering with small dings. The only issue that I know of is a repair on the forearm a small crack that was professionally repaired, you have to look for it. Price:$4250
