Truly Exceptional L.C. Smith Crown Grade 20ga with original hang tag – A&F gun in superb all original condition: Truly superb and all original L.C. Smith Crown Grade 20ga. Easily the finest example of this grade and configuration I have handled. Made in 1922 and shipped to Abercrombie and Fitch. Made with 28″ barrels, Hunter One SST, splinter forend, capped pistol grip buttstock with original buttplate. Accompanying the gun is the original hang tag from Abercrombie which shows the gun exactly as found today. Beautifully engraved with scroll and game scenes on sides and fantastically executed gold crown in top lever. Stocks show excellent grain and color and are sound.
Overall, the gun remains in excellent to near mint original condition with more than 95% bold original case color remaining. Barrels retain more than 97% original blue. Stocks are excellent with only minor handling marks, most notably a couple of old impressions but the right side of the top tang, but otherwise excellent to near mint with nearly all of their original finish remaining. Buttplate is near mint. Bores are brilliant and shiny. Mechanics are crisp and the gun appears very little used and very well taken care of. It comes with its original hang tag and LCSCA research letter confirming the gun as found today. This is a gem of a Smith small bore. If you like investment grade Amerian doubles – this is it!
