Parker Reproduction 28ga. w/the best options-SG-BT-DT and choked Q1&Q2! Killer wood!

Parker Reproduction 28ga. w/the best options SG-BT-DT and choked Q1&Q2! Killer wood: Here’s a Parker 28 bore Repro that rings all the bells! A double trigger, straight grip with a beaver tail forend and the 26″ barrels are choked Quail 1 & Quail 2! It’s in the original factory case with snap caps, key and outer canvas cover. The condition is not perfect, but it’s very nice. The blue is all there, but the case colors have faded on the bottom and a little on the sides. I call it conservatively 50-60%. The wood is a terrific piece of claro with excellent figure. There was a chip just behind the top tang that was professionally repaired and will cause no further problems. Skeleton butt of course. The LOP is 14 5/8 inches and it weighs a delightful 5.67 pounds. There is no finer handling upland shotgun. Price: $5295

Connecticut Shotgun RBL 16ga. – 29”, AS NEW, “RESERVE”

Connecticut Shotgun RBL 16ga. – 29”, AS NEW, “RESERVE” VINTAGE FIREARMS INC: Serial Number: RBL004829. General Specs: Connecticut Shotgun, 2015±, 16 Ga, Weight 6lbs 12oz, Chokes LM/M, LOP 14 3/4″, DAH 2 1/2″, DAC 1 1/2″.  Many of you that enjoy shooting with the side by side shotgun are familiar with Tony Galazan’s well received RBL series of round bodied guns.  The gun presented here is an as new RBL RESERVE series from Connecticut Shotgun Manufacturing Co.  The RBL is a robust gun with excellent mechanics and a very appealing look with its bone and charcoal case colored receiver, gold plated triggers, and nicely figured walnut stock.  This gun shipped with 29” barrels that retain 100% of their fine rust blue, perfect bores, choked LM/M.  The metal overall retains 99.9% of the factory finishes, with the only wear of any kind at the safety on the top tang.  The wood has a very nice figure and retains all of its original finish and perfect checkering.  The gun balances dead on the hinge pin and has a very solid feel and comes to shoulder the way a fine side x side is supposed to.  Galazan has a solid performer with his RBL.  We have priced this gun to sell quickly, as I do not believe it has ever been in the field or used much at all.  There is only the faintest hint of a primer ring on the standing breech indicating very little shooting.  The RBL Reserve is a solid investment and will do you well on the sporting clays course or in the field. Price: $3,550

What makes Caeser Guerini shotgun so impressive…

New Caeser Guerini Invictus M-Spec 34″

Italian shotguns have always impressed me, and a trip I took last week reminded me why.

Greystone Castle Sporting Club

I attended Caeser Guerini’s 2020 Writer-Dealer Event at Greystone Castle Sporting Club, and  all the over-unders there displayed an admirable commitment to quality and innovation.

New Caeser Guerini Maxum Gold Field
New Caeser Guerini Maxum Gold Field

For field guns, Caesar Guerini has added two new over-unders: the Maxum Gold Field (a limited-edition version of the gun shown here) and a 28-gauge version of their Revenant model.

To their Syren line of shotguns for women, they’ve also added two models.

Syren Elos N2 Elevate
Syren Elos N2 Elevate

First, there’s the Syren Elos N2 Elevate — a new model of this gun. It uses Fabarm’s Quick Release Rib System to change the Syren Elos N2 Elevate’s point of impact. In minutes, this gun can adapt to Trap, Skeet, or Sporting Clays.

There’s also the new Syren Julia Sporting. Aesthetics have always been a Guerini strong point, and this new double is a real head-turner — and clay buster.

To their Invictus target guns, Caeser Guerini introduced three models: the Invictus II Sporting, the Invictus III Sporting Limited, and the Invictus I M-SPEC 34” Specialist.

Built to fire a million rounds and keep on going, these OUs draw on their patented Invictus Block and easy-to-replace Invictus Cam pivot points to make them easy to tighten them up and bring the barrels-to-action connection back to factory specs.

While you can make this repair with other OUs, you can do it quickly and with incredible precision and with almost zero hand-fitting with an Invictus. This helps keep your Invictus gun in your hand and shooting, rather than on your gunsmith’s bench in pieces.

Good gun alerts: A couple nice looking 20 gauges…

Guerini-Pintossi 820 Over and Under Shotgun in 20 Gauge
Guerini-Pintossi 820 Over and Under Shotgun in 20 Gauge

What’s the perfect gauge for grouse & woodcock hunting? A lot of guys think it’s a 20, and even though I would disagree, I see their point. Most twenties are light, which makes them easy to carry all day long. And they carry enough lead to knock down anything that you’ll hunt in the uplands–even wild pheasants if you keep your shots close.

Also, 20 gauge ammo is easy to find. Every gun shop and gas station that stock shells usually has a few boxes of it on hand. I love my 16s, but if I were up in northern Maine and ran out of shells, I know I’d be out of luck.

If you’re a fan or 20 gauge doubles, here are two nice ones that just popped up on the market. This first one is by a maker I’ve never heard of before–Guerini-Pintossi. I think this Italian maker was around in the ’60s & ’70s, and this OU looks like a basic, no frills double with a shallow action a blitz/trigger-plate style design that reminds me of a Merkel 200-E. It’s definitely in nearly-new condition. I love the 28″ barrels and the double triggers. The gun’s weight is nice, too.

J.P. Sauer 20g. - Pre WWII quality - 20 gauge with straight grip and ejectors!
J.P. Sauer 20g. – Pre WWII quality – 20 gauge with straight grip and ejectors!

Twenty-gauge Sauers like this one are hard to find, especially with a straight grip, double triggers, and condition, In fact, this is the only one I’ve seen. I’m pretty sure it was made in the ’50s. It’s on an Anson & Deeley-style boxlock action, and it has condition, good barrels and lots of condition. It’s real light, too — just 5 3/4lbs.

J.P. Sauer 20g. – Pre WWII quality – 20 gauge with straight grip and ejectors:
You know we get a nice number of really exceptional little doubles through our shop but it brings me sincere pleasure when I get one in like this in a very affordable price range that has everything a person could want in a double gun. This little Sauer has condition, great dimensions, and the super pre-world war II craftsmanship one can expect from this great maker.  Price: $2,200
