EARLY POST WAR WINCHESTER MODEL 21 DUCK 12GA.-3” SHOTGUN WITH 32” BARRELS. CIRCA 1947: All original and never on market in excellent as found, untouched condition from family of the original owner. Bottom of frame stamped “DUCK”. Barrels marked “WINCHESTER PROOF STEEL” and both marked “FULL”. Serial in the 19,xxx range and matching. Excellent checkering which is original and not refreshed. Chip out of forend at the left front which is an easy repair by a good stock man. Serial # 1308. 2 3/4″ chambers. 26″ chopper lump bbls, IC/Mod. hand matted rib, Stunning deep ” sculptured ” engraving by Sosta Gianfranco (deceased). Straight hand stock with highly figured turkish walnut, dropper points, and splinter forend. Checkering is perfect 32 LPI. This beautiful R1 Rizzini was made for Ambercrombie and Fitch in 1974 ( letter from Rizzini ) both names lettered in gold on barrels. Gun remains in “as new” condition. This is an outstanding Prussian Daly from the pre-war era. All of the metal including the trigger guard, operating lever, tang, forend hardware and the grip cap are profusely covered in acanthus leaf scroll engraving. This same scroll surrounds game scenes on the receiver of pointing dogs on the left, a covey of quail on the right and ducks on the bottom. The metal exhibits a mottled tarnished pewter and smokey grey patina which adds to the original deep relief engraving and makes it more appealing now, than decades ago when first created.

Dark, dark Turkish walnut was selected for the pistol grip stock and three piece forearm. Truly outstanding fler-de-lis checkering is generously spread over the grip surfaces. A narrow wedge of horn is inlaid at the tip of the forearm and the gold inset oval in the toeline has yet to be initialed. The barrels retail 95% of their blue, the bores are bright & excellent and the wood has seen exceptional care. This gun may be better now that when it was made. Price: $12,500

Condition: This shotgun has had very little use and retains a high degree of original finish overall. Browning Lebeau Courally LC1 20 Gauge Sidelock Shotgun

Browning is one of the world’s most famous gunmakers – and for good reason. John Browning changed the gun world forever, and millions of shooters have cherished creations. But even though Mr Browning designed two of the most iconic shotguns of the 20th century – the Auto 5 and the Superposed – he never developed a SxS.

Browning’s first SxS was a rugged boxlock called BSS. Introduced in 1971 and offered until , it made in Japan by Miroku. Browning added to it’s BSS line in 1983 with introduction of its highly regarded BSS sidelock. While both models were well made, Browning stopped producing them in 1987. But even though the BSS ended, Browning still offered side-by-sides through The Browning Custom Shop in Herstal, Belgium. I don’t know a lot about the SxSs they offered but at least two of the models (LC1 & LC2) were offered until about 2006. Both were manufactured by the famous Belgian firm Lebeau-Courally, and the gun you see here is one the guns that company built. This gun looks top quality, and at $10,500, it’s a very fair deal.

Browning Lebeau Courally LC1 20 Gauge Sidelock Shotgun: From the Browning Custom Shop by Lebeau Courally. This 20 Gauge bar action sidelock with 28″ F/M chopper lump ejector barrels with 2 3/4″ chambers and smooth raised rib. Bores measure .627 right and left. Choked .011 right and .028 left. Color case hardened reciever with border scroll engraving. Double triggers. Highly figured straight grip stock of European Walnut. 14 3/8″ LOP to a checkered butt. DAC-1 1/2″ DAH- 2 5/8″ Neutral cast. Splinter forend with Anson forend release. 6lb 1oz Cased in factory Emmebi trunk case with cloth sleeves. The Browning LC1 was discontinued in 2006. MSR at that time was $17,516. This outstanding 20 bore game gun remains in new and possibly unfired condition. Outstanding value by Belgium’s top tier maker. Price: $10,500
