I don’t pay a ton of attention to Spanish shotguns. Not that I have anything against them. Many Spanish doubles are well made, and some of them are bargains. I think this 16 gauge SxS by Ugartechea is both.
Ugartechea has been around since 1922 — a long time for a Spanish gunmaker — and today they build everything from basic boxlocks to fancy, Holland-pattern sidelocks.
The Upland Classic is a model imported by Lion Country Supply. It’s basic, Anson & Deeley pattern boxlock and it comes in a number of grades (I think this is a Grade 2). New, a Grade 2 in 16g is a $1999. The one here looks pretty much new and it costs $400 less — money you can put towards a hunting trip.
