Fabbri Best Grade "Funeral" Sidelock 12 ga. O/U Shotgun
Fabbri Best Grade “Funeral” Sidelock 12 ga. O/U Shotgun

Fabbri Best Grade “Funeral” Sidelock 12 ga. O/U Shotgun: Fabbri Best Grade “Funeral” Gold Line Sidelock 12 gauge O/U shotgun.  Masterfully hand-made in 1972 by Armi Fabbri this “pigeon” configured O/U comes with two original 30” sets of Bohler Super Blitz steel barrels. Both sets are identical in that they are fitted with “flat” vent ribs that taper from 7/16” to 5/16” and have brass front and mid beads. The set marked “I” is choked .020” Modified and .035” Full.  Set “II” is choked .035” Full and .043” XXFull. The sidelock receiver was engraved by Italian master engraver Ferruccio Iora in the minimalistic “Funeral” style which features very fine, and very difficult to execute gold wire on a “black” finished frame.  In the case of this gun “less is more” as you will surely agree, this is a splendid looking Fabbri. The stock and forearm were fashioned from a beautiful piece of walnut.  The forearm is fitted with an Anson style push button release.  The buttstock has a right-hand palm swell.  As the presents it has a 14 ¾” LOP over several spacers and a recoil pad.  The DAC is 1 3/8” and the DAH is 1 3/8” with about ¼” right hand cast.  Although the dimensions are very shootable, you will agree that a new stock is in order.  Tulio Fabbri estimates $10k to restock the gun by the factory.  Whereas it could be professionally restocked here in the states for considerably less money! Of course, this is a Fabbri which indicates it is one of the very best guns in the world from both a materials standpoint and from a fit and finish perspective! The gun weighs 7 lbs. 11 oz., and balances beautifully.  Overall condition is 98%+. In all regards this is one of the finest guns in the world and this very gun would be approximately $200k to replace.  Cased in maker’s leather luggage case. SN:  E463 Price: $75,000*

Fantastic and near mint Ithaca NID Field Grade 10ga – Fabulous all original gun with bold vivid original case color!:

Fantastic and near mint Ithaca NID Field Grade 10ga – Fabulous all original gun with bold vivid original case color!: Easily the very best 10ga NID Model Field Grade Gun I have seen, this one made before the era of the 10ga Magnums in the 500k SN range.  This gun made with 32″ fluid steel barrels, checkered splinter forend, double triggers, extractors and safety.  The case hardened frame is lightly border engraved.  Capped pistol grip buttstock is point pattern checkered through the wrist and terminates with the original lined lined hard rubber buttplate. Overall, the gun remains in near mint original condition.  Barrels retain nearly all of their original blue with only a very minor rub or two.  Receiver retains virtually all of its bold original case color as seen in the photos.  Stocks are sound and retain virutally all of their original finish with only very minor handling marks and upon very close inspection do show some repair work at wrist which is very near invisible. Bores are brilliant and shiny and mechanics are crisp.  This is a very near mint gun which has been scarcely fired.  Breech face shows almost no shell ring evidence. Price: $3,295

Truly exceptional & finest quality fully optioned all original Parker 12ga A1 Special w/ fantastic Huey Case - Choice in every regard!!!
Truly exceptional & finest quality fully optioned all original Parker 12ga A1 Special w/ fantastic Huey Case – Choice in every regard!!!

Truly exceptional & finest quality fully optioned all original Parker 12ga A1 Special w/ fantastic Huey Case – Choice in every regard!!!: Exceedingly rare all original Parker A-1 Special 12ga built on a #2 frame with 30″ original Peerless Steel ventilated rib barrels.  Original beavertail forend is beautifully checkered and iron fully engraved.  The receiver is full coverage “Invincible” style scroll engraved with game scenes – very rare on any A1 Special, this one with large Ruffed Grouse on bottom, Geese with Pointer on left, Pheasant with setter on right all surrounded by perfectly executed full coverage scroll.  Barrels with scroll wedges at breech ends and frame with carved fences and carved pigtails on the bottom.  Stocked with an exceptional piece of European Walnut and fantastically checkered as seen in the photos.  Back end of the butt has a small Monte Carol and terminates with its original hardening Silvers pad.  Housed in a magnificent Marvin Huey elephant hide and oak case.  The case is custom fitted for this gun with accessories and is a remarkable work of art in its own right with a replacement cost today in excess of $5500!  Overall, the gun remains in fantastic all original untouched condition.  The barrels retain more than 97% original blue.  Action retains a lot of the original case color, particularly strong on the sides, but percentage is hard to ascertain due to the full coverage engraving.  Easily more than 50%, though.  Stocks are beautiful, sound, and original and retain nearly all of their original finish with only very minor handling marks.  The bores are brilliant and shiny, mechanics are crisp.  Gun was not used very much.  Case is near mint with only very minor rubs. I’ve handled more than my fair share of ultra high end Parkers in the past decade and this one easily ranks among the finest of them all for class, character, originality, rarity, and condition.  The gun is engraved in a really rare pattern in that game scenes are not often found on A1’s and this gun comes from one of the best Parker collections ever assembled and was considered one of the crown jewels in that collection.  This gun should be considered for its form and function as an alternate investment as it is nearly impossible to improve upon. Price: $159,500

Pedro Arrizabalaga 12 gauge, Two-barrel set, Sidelock ejector, Regal Sabel, imported to the UK by Gunmark, Ltd in 1976
Pedro Arrizabalaga 12 gauge, Two-barrel set, Sidelock ejector, Regal Sabel, imported to the UK by Gunmark, Ltd in 1976

Pedro Arrizabalaga 12 gauge, Two-barrel set, Sidelock ejector, Regal Sabel, imported to the UK by Gunmark, Ltd in 1976: This gun was made in 1976 by Pedro Arrizabalaga and imported to the U.K. by Gunmark, Ltd. Arrizabalaga is known throughout the world as “The Purdy of Spain”, one of the finest manufacturers of London Best-Style doubles. This two-barrel set began it’s life as a “composed” pair, but over the course of 45 years, gun #2 lost its locks and had a broken stock. I had my gunsmith fit the barrels from gun #2 to the action of gun #1. The chokes of both barrels are improved and modified, but one set can be opened up for different hunting situations. Both sets of barrels have mirror bores, but the #2 set has a more highly polished exterior. The action retains most of its color case hardening. There are minor handling marks on the exterior of both barrel sets. Both sets of barrels ring like bells and shoot well on the skeet range and on pheasants. The wood is above average, showing some fiddleback and smoke and honey contrast. The stock shows handling marks from field use. It has an articulated front trigger, hand-detachable locks and well-timed ejectors.  The trigger pulls are 4# and 3-1/4#. The gun is well-balanced (just ahead of the hinge pin), is quick to the shoulder, and swings like a dream. I bought a new canvas and leather two-barrel gun case to use as my own, but I have no other two-barrel sets in my collection. I even made a custom insert to hold the action from gun #2, which I am including. Arrizabalaga is no longer in business, so this is your chance to own a gun from one of the best manufacturers in Spain, at a fair price. Price: $3950.

W.J. Jeffery & Co. London sidelock with wonderful and realistic engraved dog scenes: Hammerless Sidelocks – Check out the engraving on this gun. Built between 1904 and 1906 it is highly unusual to have realistic dog scenes engraved from this period. Beyond the wonderful engraving this gun features very nice marbled English walnut and an extra Purdey hidden third bite. The barrels have some light pitting on the outside of the left barrel that could be removed with a restrike and black. Probably the result of being put away in a damp case. This one is on Gunbroker.com now. It’s listed with No Reserve and the auction ends 6/30/2019 @ 8:30 PM.

The M21 was introduced in 1931 — making it a latecomer to the American SxS shotgun scene. But even though it came on the scene as the more and more shooters were turning to pumps and semi-automatic shotguns, Winchester kept the M21 in regular production until 1960 — well after gun companies like A.H. Fox, Lefever Arms, and Parker Bros. had gone under.

Fox XE 16 Gauge – FACTORY ORIGINAL, MINT CONDITION: Year 1919, 16 Gauge, 5lbs 12oz, Side-by-Side: Serial Number 300,790

Fox XE 16 Gauge – FACTORY ORIGINAL, MINT CONDITIONYear 1919, 16 Gauge, 5lbs 12oz, Side-by-Side: Serial Number 300,790. During the 20 years of chasing A.H. Fox guns of all grades and gauges for my personal collection and to assist my clients to build their collections, the Fox XE 16ga. has been one of the most difficult to find.  I have only seen 5 offered for sale in the last 10 years.  This fine example could be the very best XE 16 on Mother Earth, as it has all original factory finishes retaining 99% case color, blue, and wood finish.  Built in 1919, sn300790 is one of 90 factory-documented Fox XE guns built in 16ga., with only 79 of those the cherished Philly made guns.  Some of these guns have disappeared so it is likely there are less than 70 or so left in the world.  Of the 70, few have this much condition remaining and most have been significantly altered since leaving the factory.  I have examined this gun inside and out, and it is a near new, factory original gun.  The signature A.H. Fox case colors are not duplicated in today’s world. The engraving on this gun is exceptionally sharp and clear and from the prime era of Fox engraving. When you examine the order card you will notice it shows 3 ½” drop at the heel which is an error on the card as the gun has 2 ½” drop at heel and THE GUN MATCHES ALL OTHER DETAILS ON THE ORDER CARD including the long length of pull, gun weight, barrel weight and length.  Errors were made when handwriting order cards.  The gun came from the factory with the 2 ½” drop at heel.  The factory marked serial number is on the head of the stock as shown in the photos.  Weighing just 5lbs. 13oz. and balanced perfectly on the hinge pin, you would be hard-pressed to find a more beautiful A.H. Fox.  This gun has it all…rarity, high grade, incredible factory original condition, desirable features and stock dimensions, perfect mechanics, mirror bores, gorgeous wood figure, perfect screws…an A.H. Parker VH 16 Gauge Side-by-Side SUPER CLEAN, CRISP, UNTOUCHED GUN!
Parker VH 16 Gauge Side-by-Side SUPER CLEAN, CRISP, UNTOUCHED GUN!

Parker VH 16 Gauge Side-by-Side SUPER CLEAN, CRISP, UNTOUCHED GUN!
General Specs: Parker, year 1931, 16 Gauge, 6lbs 6oz, SxS
Serial Number: 234883
I get to see a lot of fine Parker guns in my business, and high-grade guns to boot, but this fine Parker, sn234883 built in 1931, stands out because of its CLEAN, UNMOLESTED condition.  Another nicety is that it is a full 1/4lb. lighter than most 16ga. Parkers built on the #1 frame, weighing just 6lbs. 6oz. and balanced perfectly on the hinge pin.  Look at the wood to metal fit, the checkering, the screws…they are factory original and superb.  All the finishes, including the wood finish, are factory original and untouched.  Virtually 99% factory case color remains on the receiver, bold and vivid (keep in mind the photo flash washes out some of the vividness. The colors show better in person), and 99% factory original blue on the barrels.  There is not one crack or split or repair anywhere in the wood, and the gun measures 14 1/4″ to the factory dogs head butt plate.  The 28″ barrels have no dings or pits, a few light handling marks, mirror perfect bores, unaltered 2 9/16″ chambers, rough barrel weight stamped at 3-5, and crisp clear lettering and rib matting. Even the factory jewelling at the breech face remains evident (see photos). You can look a long time and you will be hard-pressed to find a more genuine and crisp VH 16.  These guns are still a great investment, especially with high condition.  This is clearly an investment quality shotgun that has been carried and therefore can be used and shot with no loss of value.  If you want to see what near new, factory Parker case colors looked like, just check this one out.  They are not subtle, nor “pearlescent”, but bold and strong.  This fine Parker has it all; high factory condition, desirable features, good shooting dimensions, and the factory letter documenting the gun.  NICE!  Thanks for looking. Price: $8,950
