It shoots a 530-grain bullet and every detail step by step to load the cartridges will be provided to make it a fun gun for fir or feather. This gun remains in very stout excellent condition as it lived a life in the U. S. and not in the jungles of India where many English sporting guns got the hell beat out of them. Granted its life was America but this is dreams of tigers, ships, and palaces, fine spices and women and silk. Colonel Fosbery’s patent #7568 of June 20, 1885, was intended to make a gun capable of being fired either with shot, ball, or conical bullet. Holland & Holland gave the rifled chokebore its name, “Paradox”. Back in the day, Paradox meant “That which is contrary to received opinion; strange, but true”. H&H wanted 100-yard performance that duplicated the Express rifle at that time, and still have a gun that gave very good shot patterns. The Paradox will pattern from cylinder to improved cylinder chokes. H&H built a total of 1,463 Paradox guns, I am certain William Evans London shop built few. Price: $19,500

Cocking Indicators, Greener crossbolt action, cross relief, Ejectors, with a 14 1/4″ LOP over a beautifully figured walnut stock, 5.9 lbs as shown. Price: $8930

EXCEPTIONALLY FINE WINCHESTER MODEL 21 DOUBLE RIFLE: Caliber 45-70. Engraved in Grand American style with four big game animals gold inlaid in the receiver; a moose on one side, an elk on one, a big horn sheep on the bottom and grizzly bears inlaid in gold on the trigger guard. The entire receiver is heavily and extensively engraved by Nick Kusmit; this is one of the last guns he did before he left Winchester. The stock is checkered and carved; carving extends half the length of the buttstock and 3/4 of the length of the forearm-very beautifully and tastefully done. Overall gun is in as new condition, fitted in an orig Winchester luggage case. Completely made in the Winchester plant custom department and was assembled by Tony Galazan of a Connecticut shotgun manufacturing company when it was completed. One of the finest Winchester Model 21’s ever made; just a handful of these were made in 45-70. Price: $75,000.

This is one honest Lightweight Pre-War British boxlock that is not found often in this condition with the whole package including a case. This piece has a whole bunch of life left in it.  Major Gurney made a deal on this piece in 1928 for 25 pound Sterling and traded in a 35 pound gun and put 10 pounds in his pocket. He may be needed the 10 pounds more than the gun as he damn sure didn’t wear this piece out. R. Gurney was born in 1875 in Surrey, England and was with the Suffolk Regiment in 1929.
