The finest Parker Bros. AH 10ga extant! Near mint all original lightweight gun made on a #2 Frame with orig 30″ barrels – appears test fired only

The finest Parker Bros. AH 10ga extant! Near mint all original lightweight gun made on a #2 Frame with orig 30″ barrels – appears test fired only:  One of just 14 made in this configuration – this rare early gun made on a #2 frame (very rare in 10ga) with 30″ Finest Damascus barrels.  This gun, made in 1890, was the highest grade gun made at the time and was made with original splinter forend, double triggers, extractors, and beautifully engraved skeleton buttplate.  This gun is absolutely 100% full coverage engraved, most certainly by W.H. Gough, and perhaps a detailed inspection will unveil his occasionally found and very elusive signature.  The gun is engraved with no less than 3 dogs on the bottom of the frame and 4 birds in a scene on the trigger plate, two more towards forend, two dogs on trigger guard bow with full scroll engraving, double dogs on right side with serpentine “PARKER BROS.” surrounded by full scroll, dog scenes on each of the breech balls, and double dogs on left, again with serpentine makers name surrounded by full scroll engraving.  The gun has its original engraved and blued skeleton buttplate.  Stocked with incredible straight grained European Walnut stocks which are beautifully checkered as seen in the photos.  All stampings are factory correct and original in every respect. This gun remains in spectacular original condition- nearly unheard of for one of these early guns.  The gun retains more than 95% bold vivid original case color throughout.  Stocks are excellent and sound with virtually all of their original hand rubbed finish with only minor handling marks throughout.  Trigger guard retains more than 80% original blue.  The buttplate retains more than 60% of its original high luster blue.  The breechface shows almost no signs of a shell ring from firing.  The barrels retain about 95% of their dark bold original pattern with only minor spotting towards the right breech as seen in the photos.  Bores are brilliant and shiny and the mechanics are crisp.  This gun matches it’s PGCA letter as seen in the photos. This exceptional “Best in Class” Parker is priced at $47,500 and can be shipped directly to your door as an antique.  If you desire the very best – look no further – this is it.  This gun is as fresh as a spring daisy having never been offered for sale publicly.

Parker Brothers Hammerless GHE Grade 2 Frame Size 0, Caliber: 20ga, Barrel: 26″, Bore Condition: Excellent

UPDATE: BEFORE BIDDING, READ ABOUT 2 IMPORTANT ISSUES THIS SHOTGUN HAS

Normally, I’m not the biggest fan of refinished shotguns.

Why? Because most of them are refinished incorrectly, and most of the refinished Parkers out there are overpriced.

Parker Brothers Hammerless GHE Grade 2 Frame Size 0, Caliber: 20ga, Barrel: 26", Bore Condition: Excellent
Parker Brothers Hammerless GHE Grade 2 Frame Size 0, Caliber: 20ga, Barrel: 26″, Bore Condition: Excellent

Fortunately, the refinished 20g Parker GHE you see here doesn’t have either of these issues. As you can see, whoever refinished did an excellent job. It’s being auctioned off now at Gunbroker.com. There’s no reserve on the listing and it ends 10/18/2020 @ 9:00 PM.

Parker Brothers Hammerless GHE Grade 2 Frame Size 0, Caliber: 20ga, Barrel: 26″, Bore Condition: Excellent

The “GHE” in “Parker GHE” designates the gun’s grade (GH) plus the fact that it has ejectors (E). GH-grade Parkers were the company’s middle-quality guns. Shooters liked them, and the company sold more than 30,000 GH-grades.

The vast majority of these guns were 12 gauges. So a 20-gauge like this is not that common — especially a 20-gauge with ejectors and a straight grip.

Parker Brothers Hammerless GHE Grade 2 Frame Size 0, Caliber: 20ga, Barrel: 26″, Bore Condition: Excellent:

This is a no reserve penny auction for a Parker Brothers Hammerless GHE Grade 2 Frame Size 0 side by side shotgun in 20ga with Ejectors! Serial number- 176719. 14″ LOP from front Trigger. We are unsure of the chokes but took close-ups of all markings so please refer to the pictures. 2 3/4″ Chamber. Drop at comb is 1.75″, drop at heel is 3″. This piece is in Excellent condition and also comes with the case, cleaning rods, snap caps, and everything pictured! We believe this shotgun was manufactured in 1917 and was restored by DelGreco. Grade 2 has a higher quality of American walnut. The barrels are made of Parker Special Steel and feature unique engravings of a multitude of game birds. Ejectors were an option on GH grade. These guns with ejectors (GHE) are desirable to collectors and can add as much as 50% to their collector value. The GH Grade filled a gap between the lower grade or “knockabout” guns and the higher grade or “fine” guns, offering a finer quality fit and finish, engraving and style in a gun which could still be taken to the field without feeling like you’re ruining a presentation piece. We took several photos to help you evaluate this gun’s condition. Please review the photos and zoom in to see the details! This is a used gun so there may be signs of use and wear. If there is not a magazine in the photos or stated in the description, then one is NOT included with the gun.

Auction Alert: a MINTY 16 gauge Parker DHE shotgun…

16 gauge Parker DHE double barrel shotgun
16 gauge Parker DHE double barrel shotgun

Parkers have always been the most popular double barrel shotguns in America. Parker Bros. and then Remington turned out 268,000+ of these side-by-side shotguns, so there are always plenty of them around. What’s hard to find is a Parker Bros. shotgun is nearly-new original condition. That’s what makes this 16 gauge DHE so special.

Here’s some of the auctioneer’s description of the gun:

“Parker DHE Grade, 16 ga. side by side shotgun. Serial #199000, mfg. 1921. Holy elegance, Batman! Wow… Here it is: Simply the finest ALL ORIGINAL, nearly unused DHE I’ve ever had the pleasure of offering. It’s a freeze-frame of 1921 with 98% blue on the barrels, beautifully figured crotch-walnut stock and 90%+++ case color on the receiver. Receiver has nicely rendered scroll work and setter and pointer dog scenes with three pheasants on the bottom of the receiver – beautiful.” See the complete auction listing now
