Parker (Winchester) ~ DHE ~ 20 Ga ~ Side-by-Side Shotgun: Reproduction of the Parker side by side shotgun manufactured by Winchester. This example has standard floral scroll engraving with a pointer on each side of the action and three pheasants in a field scene on the underside. The barrels have a single brass bead sight on the matte concave solid rib, full/modified chokes, and 3″ chambers with ejectors. It has blued barrels, buttplate and trigger guard and casehardened remaining parts. Beretta’s SO-series over-and-unders are one of the world’s greatest doubles. The one you see here looks like it’s in great shape – and it has double triggers.

Introduced around 1933, Beretta’s sidelock over-unders were the Italian maker’s response to Browning’s then new Superposeds. Beretta’s in-house firearms designer Tullio Marengoni considered Browning’s O/U “..very high, heavy and ugly.” He set about to create a low-profile over-and-under similar to a Boss or Woodward that could also be mass produced in Beretta’s factory.

Beretta S 2 12ga. Sidelock 27 1/2″ M/F 1957: This gun is as new except that the previous owner had more dollars than sense . Looks like at the most a box of shells was fired , but he must have got at least one pheasant as he left a spot of blood on the lower right side barrel and it slightly pitted . It was stored all these years and never used again . We cleaned the spot up and in the right light you can see it but would have to look for it ! This gun is tight – just like a new one at the Beretta Store . This is maybe as close as you can get to a new 1957 hand made sidelock Beretta . Wood looks good . Great closet queen looking to get out once in a while . LOP is 14 3/4″, weight 7lbs. Price: $4,750

Beretta’s S-series O/U shotguns are some of the greatest doubles ever made – and some of them can be the great buys. Just look at the S2 pictured here to see what I mean. It’s a true sidelock with 28 1/2″ bbls, a high-straight-gripped stock with a 14 3/8″ LOP, double triggers and a weight of just over 6 3/4 pounds. Price? Under $4000. Pound-for-pound, it has to be one of the best deals out there today on a true high-quality shotgun.

VINTAGE BERETTA SIDELOCK S-2 OU – 12 GAUGE – WITH OUTSTANDING ENGRAVING: Here is a very early Beretta S-2 OU sidelock in a traditional hunting configuration. Barrels are 28 1/2″ with the desirable solid rib. Double triggers and straight grip with long trigger guard tang. Sling swivels – useful or easily removed and plugged at barrel / gold stock oval. Checkered butt. Good overal condition Gun was made in 1946. Mirror bores as original – bottom barrel at .722 with 20/1000 choke (Modified) and Top barrel at .726 with 30/1000 choke (Full). Beretta S2 12 gauge Over Under Gamegun: 28″ solid rib barrels choked improved modified and full (.020/.040), automatic ejectors. Imported and retailed by Abercrombie & Fitch New York and is so inscribed on the barrels. Produced in 1950, this example appears to be unfired. Save for a few of the most minor handling marks, this gun appears as new. Perfect screws, perfect wood to metal fit! The sidelock action is moderately engraved and retains all of its original bright finish. Beretta S2 double barrel over under shotgun

Beretta has made great over & under shotguns for a long time. One of the greatest models they ever built was the S/SO. The S/SOs were high quality, sidelock O/U shotguns and Beretta turned them out in a all sorts of grades and configurations for around 40 years. The S2 was the entry-level model of these guns and each one was special ordered and made to the buyer’s wishes.

This one here looks like a deal at just $1749. With nice long barrels, a high stock, and double triggers, it would be perfect for pheasants and sporting clays. Here’s more info on from the seller:
