Parker – VHE, 0 Frame Skeet, 20ga. 26″ Barrels Choked SKEET IN / SKEET OUT: Parker factory original single selective trigger, automatic ejectors, factory beavertail, checkered butt, 14 1/8″ LOP, straight grip. This is an untouched, unmolested, straight out of an estate gun. 90% brilliant case color. The only reason we’re knocking down the percentage is because there’s some patinna mixed in. There’s untouched screws never taken apart. The trigger guard has over 90% of the original blue. Minor handling marks in the wood with a beautiful piece of feathered walnut. The gun has minor handling marks and is untouched and we we guarantee it. Twin ivory sights, 98% barrel blued. If you want one of the best small bore skeet guns on the market. 6 lbs. 6 oz. 14 1/8″ x 1 1/2″ x 2 1/4″. Price: $12,995

Beautiful and near mint W.C. Scott “The Chatsworth” Model 20ga with case: Stunning and beautiful little 20ga gun made by W&C Scott. Likely made in the late 1970’s, this gun with 27″ barrels, splinter forend with Anson push bottom release, straight grip buttstock which terminates in finely checkered butt, double triggers, and auto ejectors. Beautifully engraved with case hardened action and blued trigger plate. The stocks have a diamond shaping on both the forend and the butt. The gun is lively and balances well. Cased in a tan canvas case with original owners initials which are also in gold towards toe of the stock as seen in the photos. This gun is near mint and appears test fired only. There are a couple of minor handling marks but overall the gun is near mint. Case is excellent with some light fading. Bores are brilliant and shiny and mechanics are crisp. Price: $7295

H&H Cavalier 12 ga. best boxlock SxS shotgun: For a few years H&H took what was essentially a best quality Birmingham boxlock similar to a W C Scott Bowood; added H&H improvements and extra finish to make the Cavalier. Such upgrades as a removable hinge pin for future tightening capabilities, chopper lump barrels, higher grade wood and better finishes. It is my understanding that H&H could never market/sell the Cavalier for enough money to cover their costs, so production stopped after three years for economic reasons. This is a Holland & Holland. The 28” chopper lump barrels are finished in a dark rust blue and are fitted with a tapered, concave smooth solid rib and just a front silver bead. The bore diameters are as stamped, .728” with the right barrel choked .010” (IC) and the left barrel choked .020” (Mod) and minimum wall thicknesses of .035” in each. The frame in nicely finished with original case colors retaining over 85% and a blued floor plate and blued trigger guard. The handsome walnut straight hand stock has a 15” LOP over and original ½” full leather recoil pad. There is 1 3/8” DAC, 2 ¼” DAH and 14” right hand cast. The splinter forearm is fitted with a Deeley release. This truly delightful game gun weighs 6 lbs. 5 oz., lively and balanced perfectly between the hands. The gun comes cased with H&H accessories. Raised solid ib engraved “Grade 4A Krupp Fluid Steel Barrels” so made for the American market. Barrels also engraved “Suhl, Germany” on left and ‘Fr. Wilh. Heym” on right. All the correct proofs on water table. Very old professionally reblued barrels(only barrels) choked improved cylinder and modified and chambered for 2 3/4″ shells. Markings still crisp. Mint brilliant bore with no dents or dings. Ejectors. Original splinter forend with horn tip, original checkering and no cracks, hairlines or wood losses(engraving superb including screw heads inside). Deluxe 4A case colored receiver with crisply heavy relief engraved game scenes(see photos) and most of the original case colors darkening to patina. Screws unturned. Cocking indicators. Boxlock with sideplates. Dbl triggers extending through 14 1/3″ length of pull over original basketweave horn buttplate with no losses(often chipped or worm eaten). Original buttstock with fabulous deluxe wood(match forend) having horn pistol grip cap and NO cracks, hairlines, or wood loss. Checkering original and very fine. Right hand cast. Lever at center and tight on face as would be expected with sideclips. Works perfectly. Heym still in business today. Beretta S3 sidelock 12 gauge Game Gun OU: Made in 1970 this beautiful example of Beretta’s best craftsmanship has 28” vent rib barrels, double triggers, automatic ejectors, non-auto safety, straight grip stock to a checkered butt. The specifications of the Boehler Antint steel barrels are: bottom barrel has a bore diameter of .732”, choke of .024” (IM) and minimum wall thicknesses of .035”; top barrel bore diameter of .725”, choke of .043” (XF) and minimum walls of .041”; the vent rib gradually tapers from 3/8” at the breech to 19/64”; front bead. The coin finished side-lock receiver is elegantly hand engraved in a floral and scroll pattern covering 100% of the surface. The straight grip stock and forearm were crafted from a nicely grain piece of French Walnut with the straight grip stock having a 14 1/8” LOP to the checkered butt; 1 ½” DAC and 2 1/8” DAH with a very slight cast favoring a right-hand shooter. 98% overall original finishes with only a few handling marks. ITHACA SKB 280 20GA SIDE-BY-SIDE EXCELLENT

I’m a fanatic for old shotguns. That being said, I do realize modern SxSs and OUs have benefits: Perfected designs, suitability with modern ammo, easier to fix, etc.

Of the modern stuff out there, I’ve always liked Ithaca/SKB side by sides. SKB is another of Japan’s famous gunmakers and Ithaca imported SxSs and OUs made by them from 1966-1977 or so. Well made and rugged, these guns are great deals when you find them today.

The one you see here is a 280. Introduced in ’71 as an English Field model, it was Ithaca/SKB’s “…excitingly new deluxe field gun…in the classic English style.” It’s built on a Anson& Deeley style boxlock action and features ejectors, chrome-lined barrels and hand checkering.

Priced at $249.95 when it first hit the market, it cost far less than Browning’s Superposeds, which started at $465.

RE: It’s the Ithaca/SKB/s 25″ barrels? Don’t fear ’em. For upland shooting, most your shots are quick pokes rather. So the short tubes won’t make a difference.

ITHACA SKB 280 20GA SIDE-BY-SIDE EXCELLENT: A very lightly used 20ga Ithaca/SKB. Very few hunting marks keep this gun from being 100%. It’s getting harder to find these guns in this kind of shape. Good to go, no issues, close to new. Price: $1850

PERAZZI DHO SIDELOCK SXS – TWO BARREL SET – LUSSO GRADE: Here is a Perazzi DHO 12 GAUGE – hand made by Daniel Perazzi. This gun was made in 1963 in period where Perazzi and Fabbri were making guns together and has been referred to as a Perazzi/Fabbri. Most of the production of this Perazzi/Fabbri partnership was OU guns, a bar action sidelock SXS would be fairly rare for this tiime period. This is a Lusso grade with ornate deep engraving featuring vines, ribbons and leaves.

Two barrel set with original 27 1/2″ chopper lump barrels choked IC and Full. Right barrel measures .730 with 16/1000 choke while the left is .733 with 42/1000 choke. A second set of 29 1/2″ chopper lump barrels was added in 2002 by Armi R. Luterotti. These barrels have the exact same engraving pattern at the standing breech area and same hand filing of the rib. The weight of these barrels is stamped 1.420. The barrels are choked Improved Mod and Full. The right barrel measures .727 with 26/1000 choke, while the left is also .727 with 40/1000 choke. All barrels are 2 3/4″ chambers. The weight of the gun with the 27 1/2″ barrels is 7LBS 2 5/8 OZ. The weight with the 29 1/2″ barrel is 7 LBS 7 OZ. Ithaca / SKB 12 gauge double barrel shotgun

Pheasant season is just a few months away and if you’re looking to get a new shotgun for roosters, this 12 gauge SKB is a great choice. Ithaca imported SKB side-by-side shotguns from 1969 to 1978 and they came in a 4 different grades: the 150, the 200, the 200E and the 280E (E is for ejectors). All of them were rugged, well made doubles and today they’re great deals for anyone looking for an affordable side by side.

Ithaca/SKB 280E 12g Side by Side Shotgun

Ithaca/SKB 280E, 12g, 28″ – this is a nice looking, well made boxlock with ejectors and shootable dimensions. These guns are solid, reliable, and the single trigger always makes the gun go bang. Perfect for ducks or pheasants.

12g Purdey Side-by-Side Double Barrel Shotgun

12g Purdey – Even though Purdey has made 30,000+ guns, finding a good one at a fair price can be tough. This Purdey looks like it may fit the bill, though. If the new barrels were really added by Purdey (I would drop them an email and check with them), the price is in the ballpark. The wood looks freshened, but not messed up. Nice looking leather pad , too.
