The specifications of the Boehler Antint steel barrels are: bottom barrel has a bore diameter of .732”, choke of .024” (IM) and minimum wall thicknesses of .035”; top barrel bore diameter of .725”, choke of .043” (XF) and minimum walls of .041”; the vent rib gradually tapers from 3/8” at the breech to 19/64”; front bead. Arrieta Model 578 SLE 12 Gauge: 28″ barrels with smooth, tapered, solid rib and front brass bead sight, choked cylinder and modified. 2 3/4″ chambers, ejectors and double triggers. The stocks are nicely figured, the butt-stock has a straight grip with wrap-around extended checkering, and a tear drop on both cheeks. The forend is splinter design with matching checkering as the butt-stock. Condition: The barrel blue is in very good plus condition with just a few light marks. The receiver’s cased-colors have faded some since the shotgun left the factory. Beretta’s SO-series over-and-unders are one of the world’s greatest doubles. The one you see here looks like it’s in great shape – and it has double triggers.

Introduced around 1933, Beretta’s sidelock over-unders were the Italian maker’s response to Browning’s then new Superposeds. Beretta’s in-house firearms designer Tullio Marengoni considered Browning’s O/U “..very high, heavy and ugly.” He set about to create a low-profile over-and-under similar to a Boss or Woodward that could also be mass produced in Beretta’s factory.

Looks like at the most a box of shells was fired , but he must have got at least one pheasant as he left a spot of blood on the lower right side barrel and it slightly pitted . It was stored all these years and never used again . We cleaned the spot up and in the right light you can see it but would have to look for it ! This gun is tight – just like a new one at the Beretta Store . This is maybe as close as you can get to a new 1957 hand made sidelock Beretta . Wood looks good . Great closet queen looking to get out once in a while . LOP is 14 3/4″, weight 7lbs. Price: $4,750

Think you’ve seen it all? Then take a look at this 12 gauge Beretta Sparviere over-under double barrel shotgun. I’m not sure why why you would want the locks to do this, but it is pretty really ‘friggin cool.

I’m pretty sure the Bertuzzi Bros. invented the gullwing design. Elio and Remigio used it on a handful of their finest SxS shotguns (like this 20 gauge at CSMC), and they may have also added it to some O/Us. Their design functioned the same way, but they mounted the lockwork on a plate inside of the action.

Beretta S2 double barrel over under shotgun

Beretta has made great over & under shotguns for a long time. One of the greatest models they ever built was the S/SO. The S/SOs were high quality, sidelock O/U shotguns and Beretta turned them out in a all sorts of grades and configurations for around 40 years. The S2 was the entry-level model of these guns and each one was special ordered and made to the buyer’s wishes.

This one here looks like a deal at just $1749. With nice long barrels, a high stock, and double triggers, it would be perfect for pheasants and sporting clays. Here’s more info on from the seller:
