H&H Cavalier 12 ga. best boxlock SxS shotgun: For a few years H&H took what was essentially a best quality Birmingham boxlock similar to a W C Scott Bowood; added H&H improvements and extra finish to make the Cavalier. Such upgrades as a removable hinge pin for future tightening capabilities, chopper lump barrels, higher grade wood and better finishes. It is my understanding that H&H could never market/sell the Cavalier for enough money to cover their costs, so production stopped after three years for economic reasons. This is a Holland & Holland. The 28” chopper lump barrels are finished in a dark rust blue and are fitted with a tapered, concave smooth solid rib and just a front silver bead. The bore diameters are as stamped, .728” with the right barrel choked .010” (IC) and the left barrel choked .020” (Mod) and minimum wall thicknesses of .035” in each. The frame in nicely finished with original case colors retaining over 85% and a blued floor plate and blued trigger guard. The handsome walnut straight hand stock has a 15” LOP over and original ½” full leather recoil pad. There is 1 3/8” DAC, 2 ¼” DAH and 14” right hand cast. The splinter forearm is fitted with a Deeley release. This truly delightful game gun weighs 6 lbs. 5 oz., lively and balanced perfectly between the hands. The gun comes cased with H&H accessories. SN: 5002. Price:$8,475
The VH was one of up from Parker’s lowest grade hammerless shotgun (the Trojan). The “H” stood for “Hammerless” and the “E” was added to “VH” to indicate this gun was made with Ejectors, rather than extractors. According to Parker, the VH was “…strictly high-grade gun at a low price” and said they were “A gun for hard usage that cannot be equaled”. Introduced in 1899, it was the company’s most popular model, and 78,670 were made in all.
From what I can see, this one looks like pretty original. The pad is an addition, but the rest of the gun look good. If the barrels are in good shape and the rest of it is sound and shootable, this gun would be great for grouse, quail, woodcock, and anything else in the uplands.

Exceedingly Rare Lefever FE Grade 20ga with beautiful Damascus barrels: For your consideration is an extremely rare Lefever FE Grade 20ga gun. Anyone who knows Lefever guns, knows well that the Lefever small bore guns simply don’t exist in nature. They are really rare and hard to find. This particular Lefever has gorgeous 28″ American Flag Damascus pattern. They are a thing of beauty!!! The gun has DT, AE, and auto safety. The capped PG buttstock is checkered in a two-point pattern. The splinter forend is checkered in typical later FE pattern with engraved steel escutcheon. The action is engraved in typical FE pattern with flying duck on left, falling woodcock on right surrounded by light scroll engraving. The gun retains more than 1/2 of its original case color, particularly nice and dark on the left side and on top. Barrels retain about 85%+ original damascus pattern. Screws are all excellent and the gun is totally unmolested. The stocks are sound and measure 2″ DAC, 3-1/4″ DAH and LOP is 13-3/4″ over the original lined HRBP. Both barrels measure .620 on the money, and the chokes are .012 (right) and .020 (left). Min walls are about.028 in each barrel. The gun weighs right at 6lbs. This is an extremely rare gun and easily one of the top FE 20ga I have seen in more than 25 years of aggressively chasing Lefevers. Price:$6895

Parker shotguns are filled with myths and mysteries:The true origins of the Czar’s Parker; the whereabouts of the three Invincibles. While some of the mysteries have been solved, others, like the “why” of the 1/2 Frame, remain.
Parker started building 1/2 guns in the fall of 1937–after the company had been sold to Remington and moved to Ilion, NY. Before the internet, a serious Parker collector would have been lucky to see one of these doubles in his lifetime. Today, thanks to a wired world, you can check out three of them.
Michael McIntosh wrote a bit about the 1/2 frame. He speculated that it was Parker’s attempt to create a British-style, 12g gamegun (basically a 12g weighs around 6 3/4 lbs and shooting a 1 1/8oz load). In Parker Guns: The Old Reliable, fellow author Ed Muderlak disagreed and dedicated a full chapter and 10+ pages of his book to prying apart McIntosh’s thesis.
Neither proved anything. One just told better tale while the other presented a sounder argument. But at the end of Chapter 5: Circumstantial Evidence, Muderlak states the one thing we really know about these shotguns: “… nobody knows what Remington had on its corporate mind when it retooled for the half-frame in 1937.”
Winchester Model 21, 12 Gauge, Skeet Grade: This example is totally original and in excellent condition. It has WS1 and WS2 skeet choked barrels, automatic ejectors, single select trigger, and 26 inch barrels. It also has a straight grip “English” stock that measures 14 inches to a checkered butt. The blue is well over 90% with the majority of the wear on the trigger guard tang. The wood is excellent with only surface wear and minor scratches. This shotgun has a great “original look”. Price:$3,995 Parker VHE 12ga. with 32″ Vulcan steel barrels: #231731, Chokes are full (.035″) and full (.035″) with excellent bores and 3″ chambers.Other features include a pistol grip stock with a 141/2″ LOP over an old No Shok pad,a Parker single selective trigger, ejectors, twin beads, and a splinter forend.Built on a 11/2 frame, this gun weighs 8-5 but is so well balanced that it feels and handles much lighter. The gun retains 90% case colors,99% barrel blue and 99% wood finish. There is a possibility that the gun was restored long ago,but if so,the work was really outstanding. The barrel flats have a repair code of EH3,meaning the gun went back to Remington for work in October of 1939.The barrels are tight and on face and lock up soundly with the top lever to the right. This gun would make a tremendous live pigeon gun, trap gun, or clays gun. With Bismuth shot it would be an outstanding duck gun.A real classic. Mr. Whatley began as a gunmaker with Webley & Scott in 1947. Then in 1985 Holland & Holland bought all the assets of W&C Scott and it continued on from there with the Scott and H&H then offered their own new boxlock gun. Price:$6,500
